ADA Class Action Lawsuit Against Ralphs Grocery Store

| Tuesday, May 18th, 2010 | 1 Comment »

Ralphs Grocery Store is embroiled in a class action suit across California. The suit entails that Ralphs presents architectural barriers which discriminate against individuals with disabilities. Interestingly enough many disabled rights advocates oppose the settlement because it does not ensure that the various architectural barriers will be removed.

UPDATE:

Apparently the main website: http://www.ralphscaliforniadisabledaccesssettlement.com/ is no longer online.  The organization CDR (Californians for Disability Rights) has posted a link to more information about this.  CDR opposes the settlement, so you can be sure there will be more information available from their website, including the names of the plaintiffs and the litigating attorneys.

I am happy to hear about the discrimination against Ralphs Grocery Company, yet sad at the same time. My family and I have endured racial discrimination, falsely accused of coupon fraud, false police report made on me. My granddaughter has been put in danger from a store director and told to leave the store. My family and I have been accused of marking prices on meats that was given to us by the meat department manager. We have no access to an attorney and “Ralphs Grocery Company and parent “Kroger” feel they have gotten away with discrimination and child endangerment. The list goes on but there is not enough room. I have audio tapes of harassment, slander and being accused of stealing. We have witnesses and receipts and copies of letters sent to Kroger and Ralphs about the problems without any solutions. We have had our groceries thrown around and been refusal of service. I’m in need of help.
